Not my usual read, but One Day in May was an interesting trip into 18th-century life and one man’s tragic journey.
Told through the eyes of Rob, this book is raw, slow-burning, and at times really moving. The setting is so vivid, you definitely feel like you’ve trudged through your fair share of muddy moors by the end!
That said, Rob’s voice and the human compassion shown gives this story an edge that stuck with me. If you’re into atmospheric historical fiction, this could be your next read!
