I will start by saying that this isn't my usual chosen genre being a memoir but I'm an eclectic reader and happy to read most books. Not only that but I am a MASSIVE animal lover and even run my own little cat rescue which is called Golden Oldies Cat Rescue And Hospice which you can find on Facebook. Therefore when I realised this was a story about Jo's dog Reba and Reba's journey of recovery. Reba broke part of her neck in a freak accident which left her quadriplegic. It is written in the form of Jo's diary entries from the 27th October 2024 to the 4th April 2025. It is the raw, honest, emotive and heartfelt story of what Jo and Reba went through during these months and her healing process. Jo's fantastic evocative and emotive writing skills and descriptions ensure that the readers feel like they are following Jo on her visits from the original surgery to hydrotherapy sessions to walks through the heath to McTimoney.

Throughout this journey you will feel everything Jo is feeling from heartache to happiness, stress to frustration and everything in between. It truly is a beautiful story of one woman's determination to give her dog the best chances. Having worked with animals and rescues for years I know for a fact that there are hundreds of people who would have gone for the option of euthanasia at the start but Jo refused to back down even with the Financial struggles in order to ensure Reba had the very best chances of healing and I truly take my hat off to her for this. Through the fatigue, annoyance and financial struggles she continues to do everything in her power to give her beloved Reba the very best chances and it was worth it!! If you are the same as me and this is not the type of book that you would usually pick it up then it is definitely worth expanding your literary choices and giving it a read today!! I am very glad I did as I absolutely loved it and ended up devouring it in one sitting of a few hours.
