Malcolm Goode
Historian
Malcolm is a retired Lecturer, formerly Head of the Uniformed Public Services Course at the Burton & South Derbyshire College. He is also formerly an Assistant District Scout Commissioner in Burton responsible for Leader Training and was a Special Constable with Staffordshire Police.
He is currently a member of Stretton Parish Council and a volunteer archivist and researcher at the National Brewery Centre and at Burton Library.
He considers himself to be a very amateur historian specialising in the First and Second World Wars.
He also likes to draw; his medium is pen & ink and watercolour wash, is an avid reader of ‘paper’ books and loves history and cricket.
He first became really interested in both World Wars when he started to research his family history. He discovered that his maternal granddad and his four brothers served in the Great War, he was the only one to return in one piece, three of them died.
