Alison has lived in Derbyshire all her life, spending the last 30 years in the village of Kilburn. She has always harboured a passion for writing, and has a deep-rooted interest in history, particularly local history. Her research into the rich past of Kilburn inspired her to begin drafting this novel, often scribbling down ideas between work and everyday life.

Although this novel has been in the making for several years, much of that time has been spent building and running Alison’s own successful business as a registered podiatrist - a career she has dedicated herself to for over 25 years. Now, with slightly more time to explore her creative side, Alison is delighted to bring this long-awaited story to readers.
